Our Top Ten Windows Phone 7 Apps

Sunday, May 13, 2012

Over the past few months the Windows Phone 7 marketplace has started to see some really nice apps added.  And we might even dare to say a few are actually better than there iPhone equivalents!

Here are our current WP7 top ten applications, they are in no particular order - You can click the images to go straight through to the marketplace.

Rowi

rowiThe official twitter app for WP7 is actually pretty good. But Rowi take it a stage further with nice tile notification and a really slick interface, we personally like using it reversed out with a white background colour. You won't find a better Twitter app than this, even on the iPhone and Android.

AppFlow

appflowThis app was a must before Microsoft released the web based marketplace. Originally the only way to look for apps was via the built in marketplace on the phone (Which sucks) or via Zune.  AppFlow still has its place though, and makes it really easy to discover new up and coming apps from your phone.

ESPN Goals

espn-goalsIf you are a football nut, then you need this app in your life.  Surprisingly it seems this app isn't as well known as we thought, but if you want to catch up and see all the latest goals - Then you won't find a better app than this.

Sky News

sky-newsThis was only released a few months after the Mango update, but is hands down the best news app for WP7.  And even better you can stream the channel live from your phone, and with a good connection the video is excellent.

RunSat

runsatUnfortunately Nike still haven't bought out the Nike+ app for WP7 yet (Same on you Nike)!  So if you are into running and want to map your run, walk or whatever then RunSat seems to be the best pick of the current apps.  The website that your results are uploaded to definitely needs a facelift though.

Dominos

dominosA really nice developed app, recently released into the Marketplace.  Speaks for itself, but great to see some of the big brands getting involved in WP7 now.

DropBox Viewer

dropboxThis is a really handy app for viewing your files in your DropBox folder, we'd also recommend you grab the fantastic Acrobat reader app to use in conjunction with this. We are really looking forward to the next versions of this app.

Google

googlePretty simple, but extremely handy app for searching Google. Saves you a few extra finger taps, especially if you attach the tile to your home screen.

Vimeo

vimeoThere are quite a few Vimeo and video apps already, but this official app from Vimeo really has a beautiful UI.  Really well developed, and the videos steam very nicely.

Facebook

facebookThis is probably one of the best developed and designed apps for WP7. Its also (In our opinion) the best Facebook app available for any phone platform. The next version is set to make it even better too.
